Yes, Dance can cover both parts of the syllabus, we teach it.

However, PE requires student centred lessons, involving vigorous physical activity with specific outcomes often revolving around interpersonal skill development. In fact, students need 150min of it each week & there are 12 outcomes per stage.

Our lessons are focused on PDHPE outcomes, ensuring we TEACH PE and not aerobics style choreographed performances. These belong in Creative Arts under the 4 DA outcomes and are contrary to student centred learning.

Instead, we’ve developed a Rhythmic PE program which covers all the PDHPE skills domains and up to 8 syllabus outcomes for each stage.
